Anodised
Anodising is an electro-chemical process used to create a protective film of aluminium oxide on
the surface of an aluminium extrusion. An anodised finish is integral to the aluminium itself.
Anodising is translucent giving the aluminium a deep metallic lustre that is extremely durable and
well suited to architectural applications.
Our standard anodised finish is clear or natural, giving the true feel of aluminium. Other
traditional bronze colours are available as shown below and can be anodised in 15, 20 or 25 μm. We
recommend 20 μm as standard.
Additional colours are available in the AAF Everclear® ranges which are supported with up to a 30
year warranty.
Powder coating
Powder coating is an application of pigmented powder that once heat cured becomes a solid and
tough coating that adheres to the surface of aluminium. Powder coating can be made in a multitude of
colours, lustres, textures & special effects coatings, so they are popular due to the great range of
colour options.
The colours enclosed in this datasheet are our standard colours offered, however any Dulux or
Interpon colour can be powder coated by our Platinum Applicator that is approved and acredited by
Dulux or Interpon and the warranty provided matches that offered by the manufacturer for the colour
selected.
